National ______ Month!

So today, as I was looking at some news, I saw that it was National Pet Dental Health Month…

Certainly a good thing to be aware of, because everyone’s pets should have healthy teeth so that they can live happily…

But it is kind of a strange awareness month, no?

This lead me to search what other National Commemorative Months there are just for fun… I learned that there were a ton, many are relevant and good (National Mushroom Month, for instance!) but a lot of them are silly.

Here are a few of my favorites for each month:

Dogpile.com

dogpileLast night I stumbled upon Dogpile.com, a search engine that donates a portion of it’s profits to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

At first I was skeptical of using another search engine besides Google; but after I decided to abandon my brand loyalty for a test run, I was pretty impressed! After a little investigation I figured out why the search engine is so good… It combines the results Google, Yahoo, Live Search, and Ask so you get the best of all worlds. They even have toolbars and widgets you can download to make searching even easier!

Their current fundraising goal for 2009 is to raise $1,000,000 – so far they have raised $331,917, so they are not doing too bad for their second month of fundrasing! Good job Dogpile.com!

Bottom Line: Nice Service + Good Concept what else can you ask for?

Organic Pet Superfood Retailer Spotlight: Only Natural Pet

only_natural_logo

Today our retailer spotlight is on OnlyNaturalPet.com.

They have a storefront here in Boulder next to Bicycle Village at 28th and Pearl, as well as a very nice website where they have thousands more items!

We recently visited their warehouse to talk with their staff about Organic Pet Superfood and take a look around their facilities. Everyone there was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and they all seemed really excited about our Super Immunity formula (this made James and I really happy).

Anyways, Only Natural Pet is focused on selling natural and holistic pet products for pets because they feel that “our animal companions benefit from natural living in the same way that humans do.” Hey! We feel the same way!

So, if you’re looking for anything from our Super-Immunity formula to a Babble Ball Interactive Toy to a Smart Cat Kitty’s Garden then you should head on over to OnlyNaturalPet.com or if you live here in Boulder stop by their storefront and tell them Michael and James say “hello!”

Dog Scooters!

So I have always thought about having a dog sled type of thing that you can take on the road or on a trail, but have never found one…

Until today!

Today is when I found Dogscooters.com, where they manufacture scooters that are made specifically for being pulled by dogs. These are especially great if you have a large dog with tons of energy because they are a fun way to get out and let them run to their hearts content!

I used to take Koda on runs on my skateboard, throwing a ball in front of him when I wanted to really get going. This turned out to be a very dangerous activity, mostly for me, because when Koda would take off he would send me hurtling into walls, curbs, and the occasional car.

I stopped doing that awhile ago because I decided that while Koda loved it, I was going to get seriously hurt due to my lack of brakes.

Now, I really want one of these scooters because I feel like I would probably have way more control with some brakes! If you want to learn more go to Dogscooter.com!
